Finally Setting up a Home Server

Recently I have finally begun actually setting up the home server I have always said I would. I had been waiting to be able to buy a little desktop or something to use, but as electronics continue to get more expensive, I decided to use my old ThinkPad and frankly it's been an interesting project.

I'm still nervous about opening up any of my machines to web traffic, but I am hoping to get this set up so I can access my server from outside my home network. Jellyfin in particular will be interesting, but there are many services I'm hoping to set up.

This may be overly ambitious, but I want to have Jellyfin, Nextcloud, Pleroma, Matrix, and possibly Kavita set up to manage many parts of my life.

This will either be fantastic, or it will be a disaster.
